The Risano estate in the “Friuli Grave” zone
In the renowned “Friuli Grave” production zone, in the heart of the town of Risano, is an elegant patrician residence dating back to the sixteenth century, originally owned by a family of wool merchants. Fully renovated, today it houses the representation office of the Pighin winery and the management offices of the 150-hectare estate.
The vineyards were rigorously selected based on the compatibility of individual varieties with the soil. The alluvial soils are suited to endow white wines with personality, aromatic complexity, balance and a pleasant refreshing quality.
The Risano region, whose unique characteristics are the magic potion that makes it possible to repeat the enchanting winemaking ritual each year, is also unique in terms of climate. Hot, breezy summers, rigorous winters and average rainfall create particularly favourable conditions. The implementation of the Guyot training system with a density of 4,200 vines per hectare is the basis for obtaining superior quality grapes.
